"My
love of snowboarding started around 1996 when we had
some rare snow in Brighton. I would go to the local
park with my brother and my friends and try standing
up on my sledge.
I started making surfer type things to ride until I
saved up enough to buy my own board.
I had a couple of lessons at my local dry slope in the
beginning of 1998 and from then on, practiced whenever
I could, which was usually only a couple of hours every
few weeks/months.
Whilst at school/college, I had a few trips to Milton
Keynes and Tamworth and also a yearly visit to the Alps
(Les Arcs, Meribel, Chamonix, Kaprun, Stubaital).
I did my first season in Whistler in 2003/4 where I
worked as a snowboard instructor. The season was long
and the conditions were great so my riding really improved.
I spent 2 seasons in Whistler and Vancouver, followed
by another in Mayrhofen, Austria.
Last season was one of the most progressive for my riding,
as I learned many new tricks and got to ride a wide
variety of different terrain.
This season I am based in Mayrhofen again.
My main aim for the season is to see how well I do at
the British Championships in Laax, Switzerland and some
other local comps here. I want to go to Les Deux Alpes
or the Iceland Park Project this summer, aswell as various
indoor comps back home.
The best trick I`ve learned so far this season is probably
switch backside 720. I think my favourite tricks overall
are backflips and misty flips. By the end of this season
i would like to get some 10's going and also backside
rodeos.
Over the next few years I want to ride in New Zealand,
Japan, Mammoth, Lake Tahoe, BC Backcountry and AK."
