Dodgy Gear Climber Reaches North Pole- (24th April 2006)
Dodgy
Gear sponsored climber Jon Russil embarked on a challenging
expedition in April to reach the North Pole.
Dedicated
climber Jon is working with explorer Craig Mathieson and Greenland
guides Matt
Spenceley and Nina Aplpinice.
This expedition was a pilot for the Polar Academy, a scheme
that increases motivation, confidence and self-belief in young
adults who are specifically selected to take part in the expeditions
to the geographic North Pole.
Jon and the other guides have been selected by the scheme due
to their knowledge of the Kulusuk area and their abilities and
attitude to work with young adults in this unique project. The
tired but extremely happy and proud team reached the North Pole
on 24 April 06.
